Such a devastating tragedy. I sincerely hope that all our friends in Japan are safe and my deepest condolence for the victim of the tragedy. I'm very impressed with how they respond to the crisis globally though, you can look for a person and give information about survivors in here. There are still warnings about tsunami hit around Pacific coast, so let's just pray and hope for the best.
On the other hand, I finally finished the bag that was in #day 1 project. It took me 70 days to make what was intended to be a 3 hours project. Pfiuh. One step at a time.

#day 8 i am completely suck at
...keeping myself to blog everyday.
seriously.
how hard can that be??????
...except maybe when you're busy making spiders for a library...ha.
It is a very cool library in an elementary school that I developed with other team members at work, called 'Rimba Ilmu'. We wanted to make students to find their library attractive and comfortable to spend their time with, hence the spiders (and lion, monkey, birds, and whale...whoa)Maybe I'll share other pictures about it soon. But this dude above....I just love.

#day 7 a break in life
What I missed about being a student is that no matter how hectic your life is, you will always have a break now and then. Now that I'm working, a break is started to feel like somewhat impossible.
Even more when you're working as a lecturer, the semester break is the time when the campus feels as quiet as a graveyard and you still have to work in there. Long, narrow, empty, depressing corridors everywhere. Sigh. I envy you, students.

day #6 good friends good time
I met with my college friends yesterday in some coffee shop in Cilandak area. It was very unusual of us to meet in a place at night and stayed until very late, around 1 am in the morning, so I was surprised. We talked about so many things, one of them is the fact that most of us are turning 26 this year. Damn right, we surpassed half of our twenties!

#day 4 but 5 days late
After such a long period of not sketching, the above picture shows my doodles around the lecturer's office that i did while talking to my friend daija, amidst our hectic week. I sketched about ideas and things around me like that plant and cup.
It kind of a very raw sketch, but it strangely felt really relaxing. Now I know why daija and this friend like to hunt sketch so much.
On the other hand, the first week of this year went by so fast. I'm already tired of making resolutions list, so this year I kind of hesitated to make one. So I think I'll just make one single resolution this year: to stop looking at other people's lives and stop comparing myself to them. We all have our own lives waiting to be filled with joy and happiness scattered around in this world, just enough for everybody.

#day 3 procastination attacked
Yesterday i was very tired, it was a long day at the office so i went straight to bed afterwards.
No, actually i was only wanted to lay around for an hour or so. I even told my husband to wake me up earlier.
But this maybe the first lesson about time this year: Do not put up things you can do now. You will NEVER wake up an hour later. Duh. Same old, same old.
So in order to exchange for the lack of post yesterday, I might do two posts today. (Underline the word might).
Yesterday I went to Plaza Senayan to pick my younger brother. Before we comeback home, we went to Kinokuniya to take a peek at some books.
It's been a while since i read fiction books, so I decided to indulge. This book is about a Tanzanian woman who runs a cake shop in Rwanda. I know, it couldn't be more interesting.

day #2: crappy bag body
This is how the body of the bag turned out to be. The stripy fabric is the bag's body part that could be used for outer pocket.
It looks crappy, i know.
I made a lot of silly mistakes, (one of it is sewing the lining part before sewing its inside pocket (more photos later)), my back ache and i feel dizzy but boy, so far i'm a very proud (crappy) crafter.
It's like when you start to learn 3d computer rendering, your back hurts and your throat feels sore (and your rendering looks fake anyway), but you feel so proud about the result.
Other than this project, today i spent time with my family, watching video clips from my wedding.
The not to distant memories already feel like years away.
*It's only the second day of this year and I already sounded like an old married woman!"sigh"

day #1: the bag project
It is actually quite simple to make a bag (at least a simple tote bag).
I mean, look at the picture above. Besides standards tools like scissors, pins and needles and thread, all you need to do is cut two parts of outer part and lining part, some strips for the handles, some fusible interfacings, and that is practically all.
As far as i concern, I have always obsessed with bags. Other girls might love bags, but i adore them. So i think it is natural that when i wanted to start a business, bag is what i'm most interested with. I know that i need to learn a few tricks on making a bag and knowing about bags construction, so i thought this morning why not start now.
On the second note, I bought that yellow rotary cutter on a holiday in Singapore not too long ago. It is really useful and easy to use, and it makes sewing a lot easier. Highly recommended for everyone that has passion on sewing. Not sure if it's available in Indonesia though:(
Hope we can see the results tomorrow. I wanted to finish it today but like usual, life gets in the way:)
Happy new year, people!
